Psiber Data Systems® Inc., the leader in low cost active network diagnostic and CATV testing, is pleased to announce the introduction of the new Model CT200 CableTracker U/G Underground Cable and Pipe Locator. The CableTracker U/G features dual transmitter frequency locating capability normally found on expensive locators for a fraction of the price. Cable locating requires the best methods and standards for effective locating. The CableTracker U/G incorporates dual frequency technology in the 2 and 33khz bandwidths for effective locates without excessive signal bleed over. Many locators today use higher frequencies that bleed into other underground assets, causing false readings and wasted digging time. By using the low 2khz signal, minimal coupling occurs, saving contractors time and money. The CableTracker U/G incorporates many useful features. The CableTracker U/G has null or peak tracking capability, a 45 degree indicator, low battery light, adjustable gain, very lightweight receiver (less than 1 pound), and common batteries for easy replacement. The optional induction clamp Model CT200C allows for indirect cable connection when required.

Psiber Data Systems®, Inc.,
The CableTracker Network Tone and Probe Kit model CTK1015 is designed for network managers and technicians. Toning an active LAN circuit can disrupt network traffic and is difficult to track due to cable twist and tone bleed. The CableTracker Network Tone and Probe Kit features a Port ID function that blinks the link light verifying cable connectivity. This feature also provides a simple and effective method to identify switch or hub port assignments on active networks. Three different blink rates are provided to ensure compatibility with equipment from a wide range of manufacturers. Traditional toning with two different tone frequencies and patterns is provided for non-active circuit tracing. The CableTracker Network Toner Model CT10 has a female RJ-45 connector for easy network connection as well as alligator clips for connecting to a punch down block or unterminated cables. Auto power down extends battery life and a built-in low battery indicator warns when battery replacement is required. The CableTracker Network Probe Model CT15 incorporates volume control, non-conductive plastic tip, and complete compatibility with existing toners.

Psiber Data Systems®, Inc., a leader in low cost cable testing devices, recently announced the introduction of a new flagship tester to their line. The new tester, known as the CableTool™ Multifunction TDR, is targeted at cabling installation and maintenance market. CableTool™ provides cable installers and maintenance personnel with a device that actually tells the user the distance to a short or cut in a cable. CableTool™ does this by a simple readout in feet or meters of the distance from CableTool™ to the fault. A connection is made to the cable in question, a simple calibration function is performed and the distance to the problem is displayed on the unit. CableTool™ is perfect for finding faults beneath drywall, underground, or in ceilings. CableTool™ also works as an inventory tool to measure how much cable is on a spool or reel. No termination device is needed. Measuring is done from one end. The CableTool combines TDR technology with an easy-to-use menu driven interface. CableTool provides the user with an available library of over 60 preset cable settings to choose from as well as 4 custom library memory slots for custom calibration. CableTool also is the most accurate TDR in it's class, with results of less than 2% error plus 1 foot. CableTool™ also comes with 16 tracing tones built in and the ability to read up to 250 volts.
